Kent Police are appealing for witnesses and dashcam footage after a driver was reportedly assaulted following a road traffic collision near Northfleet on Saturday morning. Officers were called to the scene on New Barn Road at 8:52 am on February 7, 2026, where the road was subsequently closed to allow for an investigation into the circumstances of the incident.
The victim, a man in his 20s, alleged he was assaulted in the aftermath of the collision. He was taken to a local hospital for treatment; his injuries are not believed to be life-threatening or life-changing.
A 47-year-old man was arrested at the scene on suspicion of attempted grievous bodily harm. He has since been released on conditional bail while officers continue their enquiries.
