SHEERNESS – A 31-year-old London man has been charged with attempted murder following a violent incident at a private property in Sheerness earlier this week.
Kent Police were called to an address on the High Street at 6:43 pm on Wednesday, 11 February 2026. Upon arrival, officers discovered a man in his 60s suffering from significant head injuries. The victim was immediately transported to a London hospital for emergency treatment. Authorities have since confirmed that he has been discharged and is continuing his recovery.
Investigators tracked down a suspect later that same evening and a man from Enfield, was taken into custody and formally charged with attempted murder on Thursday, 12 February. The man appeared before Medway Magistrates’ Court today and has been remanded in custody. He is scheduled to appear at Maidstone Crown Court on Friday, 13 March.
Although a suspect has been charged, detectives are still seeking information to piece together the full timeline of events. Investigators are specifically looking for:
- Witnesses who were near the High Street on Wednesday evening.
- CCTV or dashcam footage captured around the time of the assault.
