A routine stop of a damaged vehicle in Gillingham led to the discovery of Class A drugs and a concealed knife on Monday afternoon.

Officers patrolling Bailey Drive initially pulled the vehicle over on 16 February 2026 due to visible front-end damage. However, a subsequent search of the car revealed a stash hidden inside an air duct which included, a quantity of Class A drugs, a knife, two mobile phones and a sum of cash.

The driver, a 20-year-old man from London, was arrested on suspicion of possession with intent to supply and possession of a bladed article. He has since been released on bail pending further investigation.
