Unleash Your Inner Eco-Warrior: The Ultimate Poster Showdown Returns!

Calling all young visionaries, doodlers, and digital wizards! Folkestone & Hythe District Council is officially back on the hunt for the next generation of creative legends. We need YOU to help lead the charge for a cleaner, greener planet by designing the most epic, eye-catching anti-litter posters the district has ever seen!

After a massive debut during last year’s Great British Spring Clean, the competition is officially making its high-energy comeback. They’re once again teaming up with the waste-busting pros at Veolia to find artwork that doesn’t just look good—it makes a statement.

The winner will have their design featured on the side of a bin lorry, helping to spread the anti-litter message across the community, they will also receive a £50 Love2Shop voucher. Two £25 Love2Shop runners-up prizes will also be presented.

Entrants must be under 18 and can enter the competition on the council website, or they can send their sketches to: GBSC Anti‑Litter Competition, Civic Centre, Castle Hill Avenue, Folkestone, Kent, CT20 2QY.

Cllr Jeremy Speakman – Cabinet Member for Waste and Street Cleansing and Corporate Health & Safety– said:

“We’re excited to launch this competition and can’t wait to see the creative ideas young people come up with. We’re looking for designs that inspire our residents and visitors to take pride in our beautiful district and keep it clean for everyone to enjoy.”

David Fitzgerald, Divisional Head of Municipal Operations for Veolia South East, added:

“We hope that the anti-littering competition will empower even more pupils to become eco-leaders in their communities this year. Veolia is proud to not only deliver essential recycling and waste services for Folkestone and Hythe residents, but to support projects like this that encourage even the youngest residents to look after their environment.”

The deadline for submissions is 12am on Monday 13 April 2026. For more information – including terms and conditions of the design competition – please visit the council’s website.
