It has been reported a murder investigation is underway following the death of a 19-year-old man who was stabbed in the early hours of Good Friday in the seaside town of Whitstable.

The incident occurred on Belmont Road, a residential street near the town’s local cricket and football clubs. Emergency services, including Kent Police and the South East Coast Ambulance Service, were called to the scene at approximately 2:04 AM on Friday, April 3, 2026, following reports of a serious assault.

Despite the efforts of first responders, the teenager was found with multiple stab wounds and was tragically pronounced dead at the scene.

Throughout Friday morning, a heavy police presence remained in the area. Forensic teams were seen working within a cordoned-off section of Belmont Road as officers conducted door-to-door enquiries and searched for CCTV or doorbell footage that may have captured the moments leading up to the attack.


A spokesperson for Kent Police confirmed the launch of the probe:
