A man is in custody facing a string of serious charges, including the possession of a sword, following a violent encounter at a Dover leisure centre and a separate campaign of harassment.
The investigation began after police were called to a fitness facility in Whitfield, where a man in his 50s was assaulted. The victim, who suffered facial injuries, had reportedly been targeted with racially offensive language by the same individual during a previous meeting.
Following an arrest in Aylesham, authorities uncovered a broader pattern of criminal behaviour involving a second victim.
Between late March and early April, a man in his 30s was allegedly subjected to threats and offensive language, culminating in an incident where a hot drink was thrown at him in Market Place. During the subsequent police intervention, officers seized a sword from a private residence, leading to additional weapons charges.
The suspect now faces a comprehensive list of indictments, including racially and religiously aggravated offences, stalking, and attempted grievous bodily harm with intent. After a preliminary court appearance, he was remanded in custody and is scheduled to appear before a Crown Court in late May to answer for the series of violent and discriminatory actions.
