Five men have been formally charged following a violent confrontation that left seven police officers injured in Dartford earlier this week. The incident unfolded just after 1:00 AM on Wednesday, 22 April 2026, when officers intercepted a vehicle of interest on Carlisle Road.
The situation escalated rapidly during the stop, resulting in various degrees of injury to the responding personnel. Two officers required emergency hospital treatment for serious injuries sustained during the struggle, though both have since been discharged to continue their recovery. Five additional officers were treated for minor injuries.
Authorities moved quickly to bring charges against the five individuals arrested at the scene. The counts include grievous bodily harm, actual bodily harm, affray, and the assault of emergency service workers. One individual was also charged with obstructing a constable in the execution of their duty.
The group appeared before Sevenoaks Magistrates’ Court on Thursday, 23 April. During the hearing, two of the men were remanded in custody, while the remaining three were granted bail. The case is now moving to the higher courts, with a scheduled appearance for all five men set for Friday, 22 May 2026, at Maidstone Crown Court.
