More than 400 grams of cannabis has been uncovered by officers attending an unrelated report in Sittingbourne.

Kent Police was called to reports of antisocial behaviour in Ypres Drive on Wednesday 29 April 2026 and, during enquiries, visited a communal garden where a man emerged from a metal shed and spoke to officers before fleeing the area.

Officers searched the shed and recovered almost 420g of cannabis, as well as loose deal bags, scales and mobile phones.

A man matching the description of the person who fled was seen outside a shop on Grovehurst Avenue around 40 minutes later, where officers attended and arrested him on suspicion of possession with intent to supply class B drugs. The 36 year old was released later that day on bail pending further investigation.
