Kent Police was alerted to a disturbance in the town centre at 1.20am on Sunday 12 April 2026. It’s reported two groups of people were walking along the Old High Street when an altercation broke out and it is alleged a man was assaulted by two men, before one of the suspects left the scene.
Officers attended along with paramedics and the victim, who is in his 20s, was taken to a local hospital after sustaining a wound to his head. He was later discharged. A 19 year old man from the local area was arrested in connection with the incident and has been bailed while enquiries continue.
