Detectives investigating the death of a man in Margate have charged a suspect with murder. Kent Police officers were called to a property in the High Street shortly after 11:30am on Thursday 11 June 2026, following concerns for a person’s welfare.
Upon entering the premises, officers located the body of a man inside. While formal identification has not yet taken place, the family of a 31-year-old man who had previously been reported missing have been informed of the discovery.
A 40-year-old man from Margate, was arrested later that day, and on Sunday 14 June the Crown Prosecution Service authorized a charge of murder. He has been remanded in custody to appear before Margate Magistrates’ Court on Monday 15 June. Three other people have also been arrested in connection with the investigation. A 33-year-old woman from Margate, has been charged with assisting an offender and has also been remanded in custody to appear at the same court hearing. Additionally, a 30-year-old man has been released on bail pending further enquiries, while a 17-year-old girl remains in custody.
