Detectives investigating a serious two-vehicle collision in East Malling are urgently appealing for witnesses, dashcam footage, and CCTV imagery to help piece together the events leading up to the crash.

The incident occurred at approximately 1.37pm on Monday 25 May 2026, when a blue Audi A5 and a black Mercedes GLC collided at the junction of Wateringbury Road and Sweets Lane. Emergency services, including Kent Police, Kent Fire and Rescue Service, and the South East Ambulance Service, rushed to the scene. A nine-year-old boy sustained injuries in the crash and was airlifted to a London hospital for urgent medical attention. He has since been discharged to continue his recovery at home.


A 39-year-old woman was also hospitalised in London due to injuries sustained in the collision. She remains in hospital, where medical staff describe her condition as stable.

Officers from the Serious Collision Investigation Unit have launched a full enquiry into the circumstances surrounding the crash. Investigators are urging anyone who witnessed the collision, or who may have captured the vehicles on dashcam or CCTV prior to the incident, to come forward immediately. Motorists who were in the area are urged to check for any dashcam footage, which may assist the investigation.
