Firefighters rushed to the scene in Hamstreet, Ashford, today after a bus suddenly burst into flames in the middle of the road.
Emergency services were scrambled at midday following reports that the vehicle was fully alight on Ashford Road. Two fire engines from Kent Fire and Rescue Service arrived to find the bus engulfed in thick smoke and fire.
Crews wearing specialist breathing apparatus battled the blaze using main water jets to bring the flames under control. Firefighters spent over an hour tackling the fire and dampening down the area before the incident was officially closed at 1:23 pm.
Remarkably, despite the dramatic nature of the fire, authorities have confirmed that no injuries were reported and everyone managed to escape safely.
