The English coastline turned into a vibrant sea of red today, 26 July, as hundreds of dancers gathered at the Folkestone Harbour Arm to recreate Kate Bush’s iconic 1978 Wuthering Heights music video for “The Most Wuthering Heights Day Ever”.
Participants of all ages and backgrounds—decked out in flowy crimson dresses, dark wigs, and red flowers—gathered along the waterfront to perform the signature theatrical choreography in unison.
First conceived in 2013 by the performance group Shambush in Brighton, the event has since expanded globally to cities like Sydney and Berlin. However, Folkestone’s seaside gathering has fast become one of the UK’s most beloved annual celebrations, drawing fans from across Europe.

This year organizers expanded the dancing area toward the old Harbour station to accommodate growing crowds of both performers and spectators along the pier.
The event proved once again that Cathy’s call across the moors is just as powerful on the Kent coast.
