Aaron Stillwell, 41, along with accomplice Stephen Liddell, 44, targeted three shops in Gillingham, Chatham, and Goudhurst in March 2026, using crowbars and smashing windows to steal tills, cash, and tobacco.

Detectives tracked the duo after identifying a suspicious grey Nissan Qashqai on CCTV footage. Following their final break-in on Goudhurst High Street, police spotted the vehicle on the A21 travelling at speeds up to 130mph. Stillwell refused to pull over and crashed into a roundabout after a brief pursuit, where both men fled on foot before being swiftly arrested nearby.

At Maidstone Crown Court, Stillwell, of Catford, pleaded guilty to three counts of burglary, dangerous driving, driving whilst disqualified, having no insurance, and failing to stop for police. He was sentenced to three years in prison and banned from driving for two years and seven months. Liddell, of Eltham, admitted to three counts of burglary and received a 12-month suspended sentence.
