Detectives investigating a racially aggravated assault in Canterbury city centre have released a CCTV image of a man they wish to identify.
The incident occurred at approximately 6:45 pm on Wednesday 15 July 2026, after a man in his 20s noticed an unknown person walking behind him along Northgate. Both individuals subsequently turned into Broad Street, where the suspect made derogatory comments towards the victim before launching a physical attack.

The victim sustained a head injury during the assault and was taken to a local hospital for medical treatment before later being discharged. Following the attack, the offender fled the scene in the direction of St Gregory’s Road. While officers attended the location and have completed numerous lines of enquiry, they have been unable to establish the identity of the man pictured, who they believe may hold vital information to assist the investigation.
