A 36-year-old man from Canterbury has been sentenced to six years in prison for sexually abusing two children and creating indecent images.

Police officers arrested Luke Johnson from the city after an online investigation linked his account to uploaded indecent images of children. A search warrant executed at a property in Canterbury on 13 October 2025 led to the seizure of four mobile phones and a memory card.

Forensic analysis of the devices revealed more than 25 indecent images and videos, which confirmed that Johnson had personally abused the young victims while creating the material.

Following a secondary arrest in March 2026 and subsequent charges, Johnson pleaded guilty to four offences. On 21 August 2026, he received a six-year custodial sentence alongside a four-year extended licence period and a lifelong Sexual Harm Prevention Order.
