A police operation in East Kent has led to a suspected drug dealer being identified, arrested, and brought before magistrates in less than 48 hours.
Patrol officers operating in Canterbury spotted a vehicle linked to active inquiries on Tuesday afternoon and signalled for the driver to pull over but they refused to comply which initiated a brief pursuit before fleeing the scene.
Undeterred by the initial escape, officers tracked down a key residential address early the following morning to execute a swift arrest. A thorough search of the premises yielded substantial physical evidence, including electronic weighing equipment, deal bags, multiple mobile handsets, nearly £2,000 in cash, and significant quantities of Class A and Class B controlled substances.
The suspect was taken into custody, interrogated, and charged overnight with five separate criminal counts, including failing to stop for law enforcement and possession of Class A drugs with intent to supply.
Appearing in the dock on Thursday, the defendant was formally remanded into custody by magistrates and will remain detained until a full trial hearing at the Crown Court next month.
