Emergency services raced to the scene of a blaze on Saturday afternoon, 5 September, after a fierce wildfire erupted across fields and hedgerows on Bank Lane in Sevenoaks, sending plumes of smoke billowing into the skies above Kent.
Four fire engines and specialized support units rushed to the location shortly before 3:00 PM as the blaze spread through dry vegetation. Firefighters deployed high-pressure hose reel jets, an all-terrain vehicle, and a dedicated wildfire support unit to surround the flames and prevent the fire from encroaching on nearby properties.
Kent Fire and Rescue Service crews successfully brought the inferno under control within forty minutes, fully extinguishing the blaze shortly afterwards. Authorities confirmed that no injuries were sustained during the incident however, an investigation into the cause of the fire remains ongoing.
