Police officers are appealing for any additional witnesses or information following the conviction of two men involved in a major drug smuggling operation on the A20.
Prompt action by Folkestone Neighbourhood Task Force officers led to the discovery of nearly 50kg of high-grade cocaine hidden inside a heavy goods vehicle, preventing more than £2 million worth of class A drugs from reaching the streets.
The incident unfolded during proactive morning patrols when suspicious activity around a stationary van and an outgoing lorry prompted an immediate stop and search. Investigators recovered the illicit cargo alongside cash-counting equipment, linking both suspects directly to the importation plot.
Dzmitry Danilah, 36, and Klodian Marku, 25, have now been jailed for a combined total of 17 years at Canterbury Crown Court for their roles in the crime.
