Four people, including two children, have been treated by paramedics following a house fire on Northumberland Road in Shepway, Maidstone, on Monday morning.
Kent Fire and Rescue Service was called to the scene at 8:01 am, deploying six fire engines.
Firefighters wearing breathing apparatus extinguished the blaze using main jets and high-pressure hose reels. Crews rescued one adult and one child from the property, while two members of the public, including two off-duty firefighters, assisted a second adult and child to safety.
All four were handed into the care of South East Coast Ambulance Service paramedics. Firefighting operations concluded shortly after 11:30 am. Kent Police also attended, and an investigation into the cause of the fire is now underway.
