Officers investigating a reported assault are appealing for information.
Between 10pm and 10.20pm on Thursday 28 July 2022, a man was seen hitting another man with a baseball bat in Canterbury.
The incident happened in St Peter’s Place, between the junctions with St Peter’s Street and Tower Way, opposite the Westgate Towers.
The assailant is described as a man around six feet tall, of large build and was wearing a tracksuit.
The victim is described as around 5ft 9ins tall, with dark hair. He was wearing a white T-shirt, jeans and a cap.
He is reported to have left the scene shortly after the incident, after refusing help from witnesses, and the incident was later reported to police.
A silver BMW, which is believed to be linked to the offence, was seen in the area at the time.
Officers from east Kent Criminal Investigation Department have since been speaking to witnesses and reviewing CCTV footage. However, the victim has not yet come forward or been identified.
PC Charles Mills said: ‘This was a troubling incident and we would very much like to speak to the victim, with a view to bringing any perpetrators to justice.
‘We would also like to speak to anyone else who witnessed the incident but has yet to come forward, or anyone with dashcam or CCTV footage which may assist our enquiries.’
