Officers on patrol out in the community

My Community Voice* has reported that police have carried out road checks at numerous locations following reports by residents and members of the community of vehicles speeding and causing a nuisance around the district.

This has also supported Drug driving week, in which Kent Police support a national week of action in order to tackle the issue of drug driving, making the roads of Kent safer.

Police Constables and Special Police Constables have conducted road checks within the areas of Folkestone, Hythe, St Marys Bay and Sellindge and In total 22 vehicles were stopped and the drivers spoken to, 3 traffic offence reports for speeding and 1 for a vehicle defect were issued.

Several vehicles were also subject to a drugs wipe in order to detect the presence of drugs.

Whilst at the locations the officers have been approached by and engaged with by local residents.

The information and reports provided by the public are crucial in building these operations and targeting key locations within the district, so thank you to everyone who has been in contact with us to report these issues.
