Natalie Elphicke with Police and Crime Commissioner Matthew Scott

Dover and Deal MP, Natalie Elphicke, has been approached by residents from Dover and Deal about increasing anti-social gang activity, threatening residents’ safety and jeopardising access to community spaces such as cemeteries and support centres.

Mrs Elphicke has written to local Police chiefs, including the Police and Crime Commissioner, Matthew Scott, calling for action to tackle threatening and violent behaviour by gangs and ensuring residents can access community spaces without fear of intimidation.

In response to a recent attack on a 10-year-old boy in Deal Cemetery, Natalie Elphicke MP said: “This type of behaviour is shocking and unacceptable.

“I have written to local police chiefs outlining my concerns about anti-social gang activity and I have called for joint working with Dover District Council to ensure our community can go about their lives safely and without fear of intimidation.”
