Dover District Council has purchased three additional ‘state of the art’ mobile CCTV cameras. These will be used across the district to support existing mobile cameras, complementing the 56 fixed cameras already located around the district.
DDC will work within the Community Safety Partnership to install these cameras at agreed hot spot locations, to provide extra reassurance to communities.
Live imagery will be continuously fed to the Council’s recently updated brand new CCTV control room which operates 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
The flexibility these cameras bring allows us to install the cameras quickly in areas where crime and anti-social behaviour are most prevalent.
If anyone sees anything worrying or suspicious, they are encouraged to report it. The CCTV control room can be contacted at any time, day or night.

DDC has operated a Closed Circuit Television (CCTV) system since 1994. Cameras are strategically located around the town centres in Dover, Deal and Sandwich. The camera network is recorded 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.
CCTV has proved itself to be a powerful weapon in the continuing fight against crime, particularly when integrated with other crime reduction methods such as retail ‘radio-link’ systems.
All CCTV cameras operated by DDC are used in accordance with our CCTV Code of Practice.
