A former doctor from Canterbury has appeared in court charged with non-recent sexual and indecent assaults against several men and two boys.

The 55-year-old from the city was arrested in 2018 as part of an investigation led by Kent Police’s Child and Adult Protection Team concerning offences that date between 1998 and 2017, when the suspect was a GP in the Canterbury area.

He appeared at Margate Magistrates’ Court on Thursday 25 January 2024, where he faced 24 individual charges in relation to nine victims.

He is next due to appear at Canterbury Crown Court on 4 March 2024.
