A teenage knife suspect has been arrested and charged following a foot chase in Marden by a police community support officer. Patrols, assisted by the PCSO, arrived at the village train station on Monday 11 March 2024, after a report of suspicious activity in a bicycle parking area.
Three people were stopped and spoken to, one of whom is reported to have run from the scene. He was pursued by the PCSO and arrested with the assistance of a police constable. A machete style knife was removed from a nearby area.
On Tuesday 12 March, an 18-year old man was charged with possessing a knife in a public place. The man from Five Oak Green is currently bailed to appear before Sevenoaks Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday 2 April.
