Kent Police Officers have charged a man in connection with a street fight in Maidstone town centre on Wednesday 14 August.

Just after 3pm Kent Police was called to a report of a disturbance in Mill Street where it is alleged the victim was assaulted and sustained an injury consistent with a stab wound.

Patrols arrived and arrested a local man in connection with the incident.

The 23-year-old man from Thurnham, has since been charged with affray, possession of an offensive weapon, and possessing a knife in a public place.

He appeared before Medway Magistrates’ Court on Friday 16 August and was remanded in custody. He is expected to appear before Maidstone Crown Court on Friday 20 September.
