Two men have been jailed for a brutal attack at Whitstable railway station that left a man with life-threatening injuries.

Lewis Day, 26, of Ramsgate, was sentenced to 14 and a half years in prison, with an additional three and a half years on licence. Daryl Brown, 33, of Westgate-on-Sea, received a sentence of three and a half years.

The incident occurred on the night of 16 December 2023. The victim, a man in his 50s, had intervened in a dispute involving Day, Brown, and a friend. This led to a confrontation, during which the victim was chased and repeatedly stabbed in a nearby alleyway.

Following the attack, Day and Brown returned to the station where a witness overheard them arguing about the stabbing. The witness alerted the authorities, and the victim was found injured in the alleyway. Both men were arrested on the same night and subsequently convicted after a trial at Canterbury Crown Court.

Day was found guilty of wounding with intent to cause grievous bodily harm, while Brown was convicted of unlawful wounding.
