Kent Police was called to the Cowper Road area shortly after 6.30pm following a report that a man had been assaulted and had sustained injuries consistent with stab wounds.
Officers attended along with South East Coast Ambulance Service and a man was taken to a London hospital where he remains in a serious but stable condition. Shortly afterwards, a man and woman, believed to be known to the victim, were arrested nearby in connection with the incident.
On Saturday 14 December, officers charged a man aged 22, with attempted murder, possession of a bladed article in a public place, assault on an emergency worker and criminal damage. a woman aged 44, was charged on the same day with attempted murder and possession of a bladed article in a public place.
The man from Newhaven in East Sussex, and the woman of no fixed address, were remanded in custody to appear before Margate Magistrates’ Court on Monday 16 December.
