A dog has tragically died in a house fire in Margate. Kent Fire and Rescue Service (KFRS) were called to the scene at Taddy Gardens in the early hours of Monday, February 3rd, 2025, at approximately 1:13 am.

Four fire engines were dispatched to the incident, along with support from the Rapid Response Team volunteers. Firefighters, wearing breathing apparatus, battled the blaze using high-pressure hose reel jets and main jets. A positive pressure ventilation fan was also used to clear smoke from the property.

The fire was successfully extinguished just after 6am. While there were no human casualties, firefighters sadly discovered the body of a dog within the house.

KFRS confirmed that the cause of the fire is currently unknown and an investigation is underway.
