A suspected parcel thief has been charged following allegations a delivery driver was robbed in Sevenoaks.

Kent Police was called at around 4.20pm on 21 January 2025 to a report of theft near the A20 in West Kingsdown.

The victim had been delivering parcels in Heverwood Road, but when he returned to his van he discovered an unknown man in the driver’s seat. The suspect is reported to have driven off and is alleged to have later threatened to harm the victim before leaving the scene prior to the arrival of police. One man was later arrested.

A 22 year old man from Maidstone, has since been charged with robbery and released on bail pending a hearing at the town’s Crown Court on 7 April 2025. An investigation is ongoing to identify and locate four other men believed to be involved in the incident.

Anyone with information is urged to contact the west Kent appeals line on 01622 604100, quoting reference 46/YY/15676/25. Local residents with private CCTV or drivers with dashcam, who may have been in the area at the time of the incident, are also asked to check for footage.
