A scorching evening in Ramsgate took a fiery turn last night when an external bin store on Hardres Street erupted in flames, believed to have been sparked by an improperly disposed of barbecue.

Four fire engines and a height vehicle raced to the scene, battling the intense blaze that sent plumes of smoke billowing across the area.

The incident, which occurred just after 8 PM, saw Kent Fire and Rescue Service crews, equipped with breathing apparatus, using high-pressure hose reel jets to extinguish the inferno. Fortunately, there were no reported injuries, but the event serves as a stark warning about the hidden dangers of seemingly extinguished barbecues.
