Roads policing officers have continued their campaign to target those who endanger other motorists and the wider public.

Following a proactive arrest on 22 May 2025,  a Tonbridge man has now been jailed and made subject to a 10 year ban for driving whilst disqualified and without insurance. Danny Lee, from Brenchley, Tonbridge, was stopped in Willow Lane, in Paddock Wood when proactive patrols identified his vehicle as being uninsured. Further roadside checks showed the 45 year old was driving the white Ford Transit Connect whilst already subject to a ban. Lee was arrested and later charged with driving whilst disqualified and driving without insurance. He pleaded guilty to the offences and was sentenced to 141 days’ imprisonment and disqualified from driving for 10 years at Medway Magistrates’ Court on 4 August.

Roads Policing Inspector David Crompton said:

‘We are dedicated to keeping our roads safe and this includes targeting those who persistently flout the law in their vehicles. Anyone who chooses to get behind the wheel of car whilst disqualified and uninsured poses a significant risk to the public and should expect to be stopped by one of our patrols.’
