An investigation into a counterfeit license plate operation has led to charges against one man and the seizure of stolen car parts. The investigation, which began in 2024, focused on allegations that individuals in North Kent and Medway were selling false vehicle registrations.

On Thursday, August 14, police executed search warrants at business properties in Northfleet and Higham. Two men were arrested, and officers confiscated a significant amount of what they believe to be stolen car parts and related equipment. A 46-year-old Gravesend resident has been charged with conspiracy to steal vehicles and with creating false vehicle registrations for fraudulent purposes. He appeared in court and has been remanded to a hearing at Maidstone Crown Court on September 12.

A second man, aged 26, was released on bail pending further investigation.
