While not all areas will be equally affected, some parts could see significant rainfall, with 10-20 mm possible in less than an hour. Coastal areas are particularly at risk of more prolonged heavy showers, with the potential for 50-70 mm of rain in a few hours.
The Met Office warns that:

- Drivers should anticipate spray and surface water on roads, which will also lead to longer travel times.
- There is a likelihood of some homes and businesses experiencing flooding.
The rain is forecast to clear into the North Sea by early Friday afternoon.
