The advice for residents in the Elms Vale area of Dover to keep their windows and doors closed has been lifted following a house fire on Markland Road which started shortly before 9.00am this morning, 11th September.
Kent Fire and Rescue Service (KFRS) crews have successfully extinguished the blaze. At its peak, thirteen fire engines, a bulk water carrier, and a height vehicle were on the scene. Just after midday, nine fire engines and a height vehicle remain on the scene to cool down any remaining hot spots.
The fire is believed to have started accidentally and no injuries have been reported. The KFRS Technical Rescue Unit and Volunteer Response Team were also in attendance to provide support and advice to residents.
