Kent Police have arrested two men following a two-day search and multiple pursuits for a stolen vehicle that spanned Faversham and Canterbury. The vehicle was first reported stolen from Standard Quay, Faversham, at about 7:30 am on Saturday, October 11.

The first dramatic encounter occurred just before 10:00 am that Saturday. Officers located the car on Sturry Road in Canterbury and signalled for the driver to pull over. The driver fled, initiating a chase where the stolen vehicle caused minor collisions with three other vehicles. While the pursuit was initially unsuccessful, a 31-year-old local man was later detained on suspicion of theft and possession of cannabis. He has been released on bail pending further investigation.

The stolen car was located again the next day, Sunday, October 12, in Whiting Crescent, Faversham. A second police pursuit followed, culminating when the vehicle crashed into another car, causing minor injuries to that driver. The pursuit finally ended on Preston Grove, where a 25-year-old local man was taken into custody. He faces serious charges, including dangerous driving, theft, and failing to stop for police. He is currently being held as enquiries continue.
