A suspected bike thief was arrested within hours of a reported theft outside a convenience store near Tunbridge Wells.
Police responded at 7:10pm on Monday, November 3, 2025, following a report that a bicycle had been stolen from Woolley Road. Officers quickly identified a suspect and, by 12:20am on Tuesday, November 4, located and arrested a man near the town centre. The stolen bicycle has since been recovered and returned to its owner.
A man, aged 50 and living in Southborough, was later charged with:
- Theft of a pedal cycle
- Possession of cocaine
- Causing criminal damage to an electronic monitoring tag
He appeared before Sevenoaks Magistrates’ Court on November 4, where he also faced a charge in connection with breaching bail conditions. The suspect was remanded in custody, and his next court appearance is scheduled for November 26 at Margate Magistrates’ Court.
