A routine patrol by local officers on the Isle of Sheppey led to the arrest of a 40-year-old man on suspicion of drug dealing offences after he was spotted driving dangerously in the early hours of Sunday morning.

The incident unfolded on Brielle Way, Sheerness, at approximately 3:50 am on Sunday, November 9, 2025, when police patrols saw a vehicle being driven at excessive speed. According to reports, the driver also dangerously “clipped the pavement” twice.

Officers promptly requested the vehicle to stop and a subsequent search of the car quickly uncovered a significant haul, including quantities of cannabis and cocaine, along with various items of drug paraphernalia. Further inspection yielded £1,400 in cash, suspected to be the proceeds of crime, and a large ratchet bar, which was classified as an offensive weapon.

The man, who comes from Queenborough, was immediately arrested. He faces a number of serious charges, including:

  • Possessing cocaine and cannabis with intent to supply.
  • Possession of criminal property (the cash).
  • Possession of an offensive weapon in a public place.

He has since been released on bail as police continue their investigation.
