The final two days of the late-August bank holiday weekend are expected to bring a dramatic shift to cooler, unsettled conditions across Kent, ending the recent stretch of summer warmth.
While BBC Weather and the Met Office track heavy rain systems moving across the UK, the Garden of England will face its own battle with brisk coastal winds and scattered showers.
Sunday will begin reasonably bright across Kent, with areas like Ashford, Maidstone, and Canterbury seeing dry conditions through the morning. However, moisture-laden air will push humidity levels up significantly by the afternoon.
While central and northern parts of the UK face severe thunderstorms, Kent is expected to stay largely dry during the daytime before a band of light rain and drizzle moves in from the west during the late evening and overnight hours. Despite the blustery conditions, the sun will help temperatures reach a pleasant 22°C, before a clearer night brings a cooler drop down to 13°C.
