New dynamic play equipment specifically aimed at toddlers and teenagers has been added to Cheriton Recreation Ground.
Using development levies aimed at improving local infrastructure, Folkestone & Hythe District Council has invested over £70,000 into 14 pieces of apparatus to complement the existing offering on Stanley Road.
Somersault bars, a turbo carousel and a cliff rider are just some of the thrilling extras aimed at youngsters up to the age of 14.
Meanwhile, toddlers can now enjoy a seesaw, a sunflower-inspired swing and a tipi carousel – alongside upgraded imaginative play opportunities.
Cllr Connor McConville, Cabinet Member for Assets and Local Government Reorganisation, said:
“I’m really pleased we’ve managed to accommodate a wider age range as this is something residents have been asking for.
“We are committed to investing in local communities, including our young people – as demonstrated by this and the recent £750,000 refurbishment of the Lower Leas Coastal Park fun zone.”
Meanwhile, nearly 250 residents shared their views in a recent survey. These will be used to help design work planned at Seabrook, Lydd and East Cliff play areas later this year.
