A 29-year-old London man is in custody following a rapid response by Kent Police officers who thwarted a suspected farm break-in near Faversham.
The incident unfolded on Wednesday, 26 August 2026, after authorities were alerted to an alleged attempted burglary at a local agricultural facility. A man is suspected of breaching the property’s perimeter by cutting through a wire fence, however, swift police intervention ensured nothing was stolen from the site.
Patrolling officers from the Kent Police Rural Task Force immediately swept the surrounding area and identified a vehicle which was suspected to be linked to the crime. Later that afternoon, officers intercepted the suspect’s vehicle along Springhead Road. A thorough search of the car uncovered a haul of criminal paraphernalia, including heavy-duty bolt cutters, gloves, a crowbar, and a sledgehammer.
The driver was arrested at the scene on suspicion of burglary, going equipped to commit burglary, possession of a bladed article in a public place, and driving without a valid driving licence or insurance. He has since been released on police bail while enquiries continue.
