A suspect has been charged with five burglaries where bank cards were targeted at Maidstone businesses.
The incidents are reported to have taken place between Saturday 25 September and Thursday 21 October 2021.
It is alleged the cards were stolen while victims, who were working at the premises, were distracted and these were later used to make purchases at shops in the town centre.
Arrested
The suspect, a man from Dartford was arrested in Week Street, Maidstone on 27 October.
The 40-year-old was later charged with burglaries at businesses in Buckland Road, London Road, Earl Street, Pudding Lane and Week Street, and five counts of fraud. He was also charged with a theft at a shop in Tonbridge Road.
Two days after his arrest, the suspect appeared before Medway Magistrates’ Court where he was remanded to a hearing at Woolwich Crown Court on 26 November.
