A suspect has been charged with offences at Tunbridge Wells businesses.

On Friday 29 October 2021, a break-in was reported at a High Street shop where jewellery was stolen from display cabinets whilst the premises was closed.

Kent Police received a further report that on Wednesday 3 November, tobacco and other items were stolen from another store in the High Street while a member of staff was distracted. On the same day, three frauds were allegedly committed using a stolen bank card in three separate town centre shops.  

A man, aged 36, was arrested at Tunbridge Wells Railway Station on 3 November.

The suspect from Tunbridge Wells was later charged with burglary, theft and three frauds.

Two days after his arrest, he appeared before Medway Magistrates’ Court where he was remanded to a hearing at Maidstone Crown Court on 2 December.
