A Canterbury sex offender has been jailed for three years and four months after he made indecent images of children and breached court orders.

Christian Tuck-Brown was previously convicted of possessing indecent photos of children and voyeurism and became the subject of a Sexual Harm Prevention Order which meant he had regular visits from police and could only own a computer or phone if the browsing history was available for officers to examine.

He was also required to notify police if his living conditions changed and children would be present at his address. But when Kent Police officers made an unannounced visit to Tuck-Brown’s address on Saturday 13 March 2021, they saw a child’s pair of rubber boots and backpack there, leading to suspicions children had been staying at his property.

Following further enquiries which confirmed their suspicions, Tuck-Brown was arrested on 26 March 2021 for breaching his notification requirements. After searching his property, detectives also found a computer tablet he had not previously declared.

Officers found a media stick plugged into his television which contained 41 films and 15 stills showing indecent images of children.

The 39-year-old from Canterbury appeared at Canterbury Crown Court on Tuesday 18 January 2022 after admitting three offences of making indecent images, ten breaches of a Sexual Harm Prevention Order and failing to notify police that a child had been staying at his address.

Dan Webley, an investigator for Kent Police’s team that manages convicted people on the Violent and Sexual Offenders Register (ViSOR), said: ‘Christian Tuck-Brown has previously been convicted for offences which means he has to adhere to very specific rules, aimed at keeping the public safe from him.

‘He was aware of what was required of him yet chose to breach those rules.

‘Due to the vigilance of the ViSOR team, Tuck-Brown’s offending was found out and he is now in prison, unable to pose any further risk to the public.’
