A man claiming to have a gun has robbed the LloydsTSB bank in Market Square Dover.

Police said the man handed over a note demanding money at the bank just after 10 o'clock on Monday morning. (10 March) He led the cashier to believe he had a gun although no weapon was ever seen. The robber left the bank with a small amount of cash and is thought to have made off in a car.

Police said that the suspect had a Scottish accent and smelt strongly of drink. He was short and stocky, in his mid-40s, with balding hair and was wearing a grey jumper and dark trousers.
