An appeal is being made for local people to get involved in improving access to Kent's countryside.

Kent Local Access Forum is recruiting new members to help improve access to the countryside for outdoor recreation and enjoyment. This would be of interest to local residents who regularly use the network, landowners and managers, and anyone else interested in conservation, tourism, transport, sport and health.

Further details and an application pack are available from Kent County Council by telephoning 01622 221354, emailing or online at

Forum Chairman Chris Reynolds said: "The Forum is now in its second year and has an important role to play in representing the needs and aspirations of the public regarding access to the countryside in the Garden of England".

KCC Lead Member for the Environment and Transport Paulina Stockell said: "We want to hear from people with a passion for improving access to the countryside so that local people can have their say."
