CLASSMATES VIGIL FOR STUDENT THREATENED WITH DEPORTATION

Classmates of an Afghan student facing deportation held a candlelit vigil outside a Kent Detention Centre.

Canterbury High School students stood outside the Dover Removal Centre on Sunday (14 November) after one of their classmates  was taken to the centre from his Whitstable home in a dawn raid by immigration officers.

18 year old Amin Buratee fled Afghanistan, and friends have claimed he is in grave danger if he returns to his native country. His father, brother and uncle have all been killed.

MP for Canterbury and Whitstable, Julian Brazier, has written to the Home Office urging a review to his case.
