'One in five' has shoplifted

One in five people in the the South East has admitted to shoplifting, according to a new survey.

The research for Securicor showed that 20% of people in the South East had stolen from shops, with the national average being 17%.

A Securicor spokesman said: "Retailers face an average loss of almost £3,000 a year per outlet from shoplifting."
