Hawkinge Acrise and Paddlesworth WI January 2005

The New Year party was a lively event, as usual. Members brought along their own food to share out, and enjoyed a game of beetle with much hilarity and noise. There were two new ladies joining us who had a good time as well.

The competition for a hand made Cracker was won by Wendy Bell, Pauline Bart won the bingo.

Members were reminded about the trip to Denman College in August, the W .I. college in Oxfordshire which has a wide range of classes to enjoy. We are having a day trip just to have a look round. Let Daphne Hitchcock have your name and deposit as soon as possible.

Tickets for the Panto were issued. We were able to send £80 to Demelza House Hospice, which were the proceeds from the Craft Stall and the raffle at the Christmas Lunch.

We are all invited to take part in a Walks Challenge, members are required to walk 90 miles in the year, not a lot over 52 weeks. This is to celebrate 90 years of WI.

Nora Cole and Sue Maddox are our representatives for the Emergency group, other members can contribute in many ways, making teas etc.

The Craft CIub and Walking Group are thriving and have lots of members. The Craft club meet every 2nd Tuesday, and the Walks are on every 3rd Tuesday in the month.

If you would like to come along and see what we do, you are most welcome,
